Coloring With Mommy and Ezra

O My Soap! Farmer's Market postcard
I am so blessed – not lucky, but blessed by God – to be able to use my drawings in my mom and dad’s family business. Drawing for the labels and packaging is so uncomplicated and starts out with a pencil sketch. Then I pick up my trusty Pigma Micron pens to complete. They aren’t perfect and it’s nothing I stress about. It’s just so fun to have my parents as “clients”. They usually like everything I do and I get free soap.

Do you like them?

We like dinosaurs.
March 2009 – This is Ezra and his friends running from the T-Rex. See the child on the right? Look what he has, the dinosaur’s eggs! They better run.
Submarine

I can travel in a submarine
When he brought this picture home from Kindergarten, a few things were missing. He added all the sea-life at the bottom, the fish jumping in the air, the “bombs”, the propeller, and the rain. I love the detail he adds and am amazed at his memory since he drew this from a memory of our beach trip when he was almost four.
New Sunday night tradition
I’ve looked at Illustration Friday for months now, but have not done anything with it yet. Tonight I decided to just go ahead and do it. Who better to draw with than my 5-year old son, Ezra?
On this blog, Ezra and I will record our drawings from our new Sunday night tradition.
Tonight, I told him the word repair and asked him if he knew what that meant. He said he did and he wanted to draw a truck. Later on, I understood…a repair truck.
